a mother and daughter retreat
When was the last time it was just you two, no phones buzzing, no homework, no "in a minute"? One night, one place, all yours.
You know that feeling when you're sitting in the same room... but you're worlds apart. She's on her tablet whilst you're replying to emails. Between school runs, clubs, packed lunches and bedtime routines, quality time slowly becomes something you'll "do next week."
It's not that the connection isn't there, it's just buried under everything else.
You don't need another article telling you to "be more present" or another promise that you'll make more time one day. You need someone to create the space for you. One day where connection is the whole plan and not something squeezed in around everything else.
Welcome to The Power of Us
An overnight retreat created for mums and daughters to reconnect, laugh, play, talk and simply enjoy being together.
No siblings.
No partners.
No work.
No distractions.
Just intentional time together in the beautiful Essex countryside.
Think campfire conversations that go somewhere real. Activities designed to bring you closer, not simply keep you busy. Time to laugh, talk, and remember why you love doing life together.
This isn't a spa day, or just another night away. Every activity has been carefully designed to help you reconnect, laugh together, build confidence and create memories that last long after the weekend ends. It's about both of you reconnecting with the joy of laughter and the beauty in each other.

Why now
Because childhood changes quickly and before long she'll have other plans, other priorities and weekends with friends.
Right now, she still wants you.
Give yourselves one weekend you'll both remember.
With only seven families joining us, once the retreat is full, it's full.
Why me
I'm a relationship coach, mum of two daughters and founder of TeamYOU Coaching. I've spent the last two decades working with teenagers, and more recently parents, helping families strengthen their relationships through practical tools, honest conversations and a lot of laughter.
I created The Power of Us because I know how easy it is to spend every day together without really connecting. This retreat gives you the time, space and guidance to create memories you'll both carry home.

FAQ
What if we have dietary requirements or allergies?
No problem at all, there's space on the booking form to tell us everything we need to know, and we'll take care of the rest.
What about accessibility needs?
Just let us know on the form. We want this to work for you both.
What age is this suitable for?
Our October 2026 retreat is built with daughters aged 6–11 in mind, old enough to engage with the activities, young enough that this stays magic rather than mortifying. Our May 2027 event will be for daughters aged 11-16.
Do we need to bring anything special?
Just yourselves, comfortable clothes, and an open mind. We'll send a full "what to pack" list once you've booked.
Is this the only retreat you're running?
This October date is our founding retreat. There's also a plan to run a May event for a different age group, so if the dates don't work this time, get in touch and we'll keep you posted.
The Power of Us: Booking Terms & Conditions We want this weekend to be as joyful and stress-free as possible, for you and for us. These terms exist so everyone knows what to expect. If anything here doesn't make sense, please just ask. 1. Securing your place A non-refundable deposit of £50 secures your booking. The remaining balance is due by 8 September. Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. 2. Cancellations We understand that plans can change, so our cancellation policy is designed to be as fair as possible while recognising the costs involved in running a small retreat. - More than 30 days before the retreat: Refund of all monies paid, less your £50 deposit. - 14–30 days before the retreat: 50% refund of the balance paid (deposit remains non-refundable). - Less than 14 days before the retreat: Unfortunately, no refunds can be given. If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to transfer your booking to another mum and daughter who meet the retreat age criteria. Please let us know their details before the retreat. 3. Illness or unforeseen circumstances If illness or an unexpected emergency means you can no longer attend, please get in touch as soon as possible. While we can't guarantee a refund, we'll always do our best to explore reasonable options where we can. 4. What's included Your retreat price includes: - One night's accommodation (second night available for an additional £100) - All meals during the retreat - All workshops, activities and facilitated sessions - Any retreat materials and welcome gifts Friday night accommodation, if purchased, includes accommodation only and does not include meals or hosted activities. 5. If we need to cancel In the unlikely event that we need to cancel or postpone the retreat due to insufficient bookings or circumstances beyond our control, you'll be offered either a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to a future retreat. 6. On the day This is a space for connection, so we ask that everyone arrives ready to be present and to look after the space and each other. We reserve the right to decline or end a booking if behaviour is inappropriate for the setting, this is rare, but it's here for everyone's peace of mind. 7. Photos We may take photos across the weekend for use in future marketing. If you'd rather your family wasn't included, just let us know beforehand and we'll make sure of it. Our promise to you This is an intentionally small retreat, with just seven families, so every mum and daughter has the space to feel seen, supported and genuinely connected. Every booking helps us secure the venue, activities and resources that make the weekend possible, which is why our cancellation policy is in place. We're committed to creating a warm, welcoming experience from the moment you book until you head home with memories you'll treasure. Questions before you book?
